No-Logs Policy

The provider does not collect, store, or share any information about your online activity while connected.

How It Works

The VPN infrastructure is architected to minimize data retention at every layer. VPN servers run on RAM-only disks that wipe all data on reboot. Connection metadata (session start/end timestamps, source IPs, bandwidth usage, destination IPs) is either never recorded or aggregated to non-identifiable levels. Authentication systems are decoupled from VPN gateway logs. Independent third-party auditors review the implementation and publish reports verifying the no-logs claim.

Advantages

  • No activity records exist that could be subpoenaed, seized, or compelled by governments or law enforcement
  • Even if the VPN provider is hacked or served with a warrant, there is no historical data to disclose
  • A provable no-logs policy is the strongest privacy guarantee a VPN provider can offer
  • Annual third-party audits provide verifiable assurance that the policy is technically enforced, not just a marketing claim

Disadvantages

  • Cannot be fully verified by end users — trust in the provider and the auditor's competence is still required
  • Some providers have been caught logging despite claiming a no-logs policy, making provider selection critical
  • Makes customer support harder — without logs, the provider cannot investigate connectivity issues or account problems
  • Payment information and signup metadata (email, billing info) may still be retained even if VPN usage is not logged
  • Jurisdiction matters — a no-logs policy offers limited protection if the provider must retain data under local data retention laws

Security Impact

Critical for privacy — a genuine no-logs policy ensures that no metadata exists that could be used to reconstruct a user's activity, even under legal compulsion. It is the foundation of VPN anonymity.

Performance Impact

None — logging or not logging has zero impact on throughput, latency, or connection stability.

Ideal For

Privacy advocates who want zero data trail of their internet activityJournalists, activists, and whistleblowers who could face legal consequences if their browsing history were disclosedUsers in jurisdictions with aggressive data retention and surveillance lawsAnyone who wants to minimize their digital footprint regardless of activity
